100 Yen Coin: Found!

This is a real 100 Yen Coin! I didn’t even have to go to Japan to get it! It was mistaken for a Quarter when someone handed it to me for change when I made a purchase somewhere. I think it could have been at an Asian gift shop that I frequent every couple of months. It was about a year ago when I found this. When I showed it to my mother, she was upset about it because I was cheated out of $.25 USD. To me, it’s not a big loss; it’s worth more than that, especially since 100円 equals $1 USD. It must be a sign that I will finally be able to go to Japan in future. I don’t think I would want to give this away, even if I spend it somewhere in Japan. ^_^

Now that is what I call exceptionally lucky! Don’t spend it, it’s an omen!

I have a 100 yen coin. How do i find out if its real or not?
Good question. My only suggestion is to take it to an appraiser, if they’ll accept foreign coins. It never occurred to me if mine was real, but it looked like it’s been well used.
