Japanese and Korean Music You Should Hear
Aug 29th, 2007 | By Sanjo-chan | Category: EntertainmentTired of listening to Utada Hikaru and BoA? Gackt or Seo Tai-ji? Make room on your iPod for Japanese and Korean indie MP3s!
For Japanese indie music, check out Muzie (Japanese Only). If you know a little Japanese or can read past the Engrish text, they have a featured artist page. One of my favorite artists that was featured on Muzie in 2005 is dance-pop artist vin-PRAD. Her best songs include “Not The Only One” and “Believe In You”.
Next, for Korean indie music, visit MILLIM (Korean Only). Navigating the site is a bit tricky for me as I’m learning Hangul, but check out House artist merefox. One of my favorite songs by him is “Faked Motion”. He has a few more, but the names are a bit hazy as “Faked Motion” sits in my “25 Most Played” playlist.
I’m also interested in Chinese indie music sites, but I have no knowledge of Mandarin at the moment. Both of these sites are worth checking out - provided you understand the languages or have a hunch of what the pages are. Your MP3 player will be happy. ![]()
