“Dancer” Class to be Playable at Fan Festival

In the newest issue of Square-Enix’s
Final Fantasy XI newsletter, it mentions a new playable class will be introduced at the upcoming FFXI Fan Festival. In addition to Puppetmaster and Corsair classes introduced in the
Treasures of Aht Urgan, we welcome
Wings of the Goddess’ “Dancer” as the ninth alternative in the advanced job roster. My opinion? Just give it up already, Square. If I were still playing, I would have given Dancer a shot. I assume it will go along perfectly with Bards, just like in Ragnarok Online. However I’m afraid that time is running out for Vana’diel, in terms of enjoyment. I’m afraid that Final Fantasy XI is done for, especially since World of Warcraft’s
Wrath of the Lich King’s Death Knight will own all of the
timely (pun intended, if you have played FFXI and it took you two+ years to get to level 75) classes.

I like final fantasy XI better than WoW. I tried to give WoW a try but the graphics are better in FFXI, I think. I will never play WoW again Final Fantasy will always be Number 1 in my book.
I also liked the graphics, it was one the favorite things I like about FFXI, besides the music (proud owner of the Final Fantasy XI and Chains of Promathia OST). I would like to give FFXI another shot since so many things have been changed, especially since world transfers are possible. Playing WoW spoiled me with the environment, excellent graphics and customization. They say Final Fantasy XI is aimed towards fans of the series. I must admit that this is true, as I had a limited experience playing the games; having played FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, Tactics and Tactics Advance, beating only FFX and FFX-2, and soon I will start playing FFXII. I have beaten only two Final Fantasy game in my 7 years of being exposed to the series. lol
Hit the nail on the head - FFXI isn’t easy enough, like so many other MMOs. WoW, on the other hand, is!
If you compare MMO gaming in the West to somewhere like Korea, you can distinctly see that the major differnece (aside from language and graphical style) is how difficult it is to progress in the game.
@ ffxi gil: You’re right! MMORPGs from other countries other than Japan are easy. FFXI was hella hard. It was easy to level in Ragnarok Online, but it totally lacked a decent storyline, other than “Humans vs. Monsters” bit. All you did was quest after quest… but now that I think about it, it was worth the $14 a month in the end. The same for WoW–but much better.
