The First “Dragonball” Live Action Movie Images

Back in September, the Montreal Gazette reported that 20th Century Fox was underway in filming several movies in Montreal. One of them was the long awaited live action Dragonball Z movie. At the time, the estimated budget for the film was $100 Million…That’s not enough money for a film that is likely to bust due to the series’ “complexity.” Three months later, the “Z” was removed from the title, leaving only “Dragonball” as the name of the movie. That’s right: the project is now a “Dragonball” movie, directed under the helm of “Shaolin Soccer” star, Stephen Chow.

As of April 10, 2008, the photo is no longer available. I decided to remove the photo as Fox is sending out C & D letters to many blogs with pictures of the filming. I had yet to get one, but to be on the safe side, I better take it down…

In this picture we see Justin Chatwick (”War of the Worlds”) walking in front of a car…There’s no fighting–yet. Is this good or bad? He’s not Goku without the wild, spiky hair. Nevertheless, this is the start of the live action adaption we’ve been waiting for since 2002.

    I cannot believe he is going to be goku…i want to cry…i’ve waited so long and now Fox has ruined goku!!!

    I would love to have everyone’s opinion as to who they would like to see as Goku. I don’t really keep up with the new, young, upcoming actors, so would everyone chime in on their fav pick for the character of Goku, and what other movies your choice has been in? Thanks! *hugs*

    Oh, by the way, I didn’t see the remake of “War of the Worlds,” because I’m not a huge Tom Cruise fan. Who IS this guy that they got for Goku???

    @saiyanangel777: That’s Justin Chatwick who is playing Goku in the movie. But I never really thought about that who else could have played as Goku. I wonder who would play Vegeta? >_>
