[Video] Cursors Found in the ‘SquareEnix’ Folder

While I was browsing around for unnecessary files on my 88% full hard drive on my Desktop using WinDirStat, I found the ‘SquareEnix’ folder was still there, though I uninstalled it back in the Spring, since it was decided that I wasn’t going to play it anymore since WoW is the frequently used MMORPG on my computer. It’s taking up 500 MB…I need as much space as possible. I want to delete this folder…but, wait. What’s in it? It’s mouse cursors used in Final Fantasy XI! I can’t let this go to waste…so what do I do with them? Use them! This is a nice little present for three years of being a loyal player…

For those who can’t see the video for some reason, here’s what I did:

Navigate to the PlayOnline folder (C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix).
We’re going to use the cursor, “mousecur.ani” for the defualt cursor.
Go to the Control Panel under Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Mouse (Under the “Classic” view in Windows XP).
Select the “Pointers” tab.
Navigate back to the location of the cursor (I copied and pasted the URL in this case (C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix) into the address bar).
Select “mousecur.ani”.
Click “Apply”.
w00t! Now we have a cursor!
