CEN.TAKU.ME Cosplay Corner

Excited about the upcoming convention season, I’m working on a few projects for my Naruto cosplay. I wanted to go as Iruka at AWA ‘07, but I couldn’t make it. Fortunately, this gave me an opportunity to work on an add-on for my costume…

I made this from a tutorial I found on Cosplay.com on making Shinobi sandals the ninjas wear on Naruto! The tape doesn’t stick very well. Maybe I used the wrong kind of tape. When I asked for Hockey Tape, they didn’t know what I was talking about (Eh, I guess Hockey isn’t very big in the South). They did refer me to the tape used for Tennis Rackets, which looks like the one used in the tutorial. I finished this a week ago, and it only took 25 minutes! Hopefully it will set in after time. I don’t know who I’ll be cosplaying as at JAMPcon. I really want to do Iruka-sensei and Rukia Kuchiki. Wow…Two popular anime series = alot of photo opportunities. Speaking of Photo-Ops, I need a better camera…

  2. You definately have to take a lot of pictures – whoever you decide to go as.

I actually found this (http://liz.spain.googlepages.com/narutosandaltutorial) to be a really good sandal making tutorial, and the sandals are very sturdy. Not to mention, there are tutorials for Suna, Konoha, and a few other villages as well.

Ah, I remember that tutorial! Thanks! However, I like the easier one for the moment. I know a few things about sewing, but I need at least a week all to myself to make anything for cosplaying. :(
