First Death Note Movie to Premiere in May

The first Death Note movie is set the premiere May 20th and 21st 2008 in 300 theaters in the US. North American fans will finally get to see the real life battle against Light vs. L on the big screen! The movie will also show a 20 minute feature on the making of the Death Note Movie.

The second Death Note movie, “The Last Name”, ~~has yet to be announced~~ will be released in October. People who subscribe to the newsletter of the English version of Shonen Jump magazine will be able to purchase tickets on April 18th-20th before the public the day after.

Wow..takes long time for DN live action to be released in US. Wonder when will L Change the World be released then.

Will we be able to know where it will be showing -Or- how to get tickets? What about getting them at the door? Is that possible?

@ Kotoko1223: You should be able to get them at the door, but it seems they want you need pre-order the tickets. A showing like this is bound to get sold out at the door (Has yet to attend a limited screening of such shows. dang, this will be sweet, i have a few questions though, is it going to be subtitled, and will they show it after that too? i am going on a field trip to dc that week,…..

@ Ichigo17Uchiha: It will be subtitled…I don’t think there will ever be a dubbed version of the movie, and usually live action movies with limited releases like this only have subtitles. The movie will be shown for 2 days only, and there will be a DVD release following later on in the year. I would like to see it too, but the closest theater is a couple of hours away from me.

The movie will be dubbed. More information is available at the following link. Such as the nearest theater and what time it will show. On May 20 & 21, the movie will only be screened at 7:30 P.M. My suggestion is buy your tickets online at fandango or something to prevent not being able to get tickets at the theater.

L is awesome, Light is fine, but I really prefer L myself..and Near creeps me out. They shouldn’t have brought him in the series.
