Soul’s “Sparkling Music” on iTunes

'Sparkling Music' on the US iTunes Store!
For those who are fans of House music, iTunes has the complete album of Deavid Soul’s Sparkling Music. If you ever owned a Sega Dreamcast, you may have played the popular Skating/Graffiti Tagging game, Jet Grind Radio (Jet Set Radio in Japan). The soundtrack includes dozens of amazing tracks, including a few from Deavid Soul, such as “Up-Set Attack”, “On the Bowl”, “Yappie Feet”, and the fan favorite, “Miller Ball (or “Boll”, according to iTunes) Breakers”.
How did I find out about this? I had a game-ripped version of “Miller Ball Breakers”, and going down memory lane, I decided to check to see if there was album art available. My eyes were filled with tears when the artwork appeared. If you’re interested in checking out Sparkling Music, head on over to the iTunes music store (US version) and listen to the samples. The full album is available for $5.99, and it’s DRM-less for those who want their music free! I did not expect to see this readily available, so it was a real shock when I found this. I totally recommend buying the album if you enjoyed every single minute of Jet Set Radio. Now, how about some Guitar Vader, Mr. Jobs?

I wonder how long you have been looking for this XD
I had been searching for the album back in 2001, but in those days, I was much younger, and there was no sure way to get the album from the internet (in Europe) at a reasonable price. Had I known it would simply be “out-of-print” some day, I would have definitely done something to get my hands on it !
Because last time I made sure there was no way to get a physical copy of this one, it was year 2006. I was on my first trip to Japan ever, during summer. I went to Shibuya, at Tower Records, and asked. “Urikire desu.” (sold-out)
I thought : “Oh heavens ! What ever will I do ?!”
Frustration. Pure frustration.
Last year, I sighted the album on the Japanese iTunes store.
And today, it’s on the European one.
Cool.
Just too bad there is no way to get the CD Quality…
Anyway, it’s nice to see that there are some “active” fans of Deavid Soul around =)

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’ve been searching for Miller Boll Breakers from the album for a very long time, only to find game rips from Jet Set Radio. I did manage to find the album as a CD, but to see it as out of print. ((Not even a CD rip from P2P sites, lol)) It’s cool the album is making an appearance on other iTunes stores in different countries. ^^
