Dear Mr. Freelance Link Developer–if that is such a title,
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been receiving emails (which happen to end up in my spam folder, maybe for a good reason) that ask of me if I’m interested in building links with a few websites with your network that’s related to my website: one of which happens to be buried under the growing topics of anime instead of what you request for–gaming. Here is what you said in your recent email, with your name(s) and website removed for anti-spam reasons:
My name is [name removed] from [company removed], an organization aimed to help
Webmasters gain exposure using search engine traffic.Important! This is not a sales pitch. The offer is cost free and effective.
I noticed your site actively participates at link development and website optimization
and decided to contact you in person.I would be grateful if you could help us by being a part of our link development
Project. You could assist us through many ways. I believe I can in return provide
with quality links to your property, that is, if you have any interest. For any further enquiries (sic), please do not hesitate to contact me.
I sent a reply to you in your first email stating that I wasn’t interested, but if you had a website relating to anime or something similar (not to gaming, excluding gambling) I would look into your “proposal”. Honestly, I’m no longer interested in link exchanges in gaming–but I will welcome gaming website blogs as long as it has quality content, and none of those free flash game download sites. You sent two more emails with the same message, but tweaked and with different names and addresses.
Lastly…how did you get my email addresses? The only way of obtaining my email address is using the contact form, and wait for a reply [that may not be answered] if this was a way to get a free exposure while not returning the favor, like one of these spammers. I don’t know what your motives are, but I’m no longer interested in building links the “quick and easy way”. I’m going to be patient and just build my own links when the time comes.
Sincerely,
Sanjo-chan.

Ugh. I’ve gotten quite a few of those myself recently. I’ve just taken to ignoring them.
