WordPress Theming
With 2009 here at last, I thought I put forward a promise I made to myself back in the Summer: creating my own WordPress theme.
I’ve have gotten far as to crafting my own theme for Blogger back in 2003, but it was only a basic HTML theme made entirely out of tables and it would not have made on theme directories as some people frown upon table layouts nowadays.
The theme project started in September and resumed in early December. I can’t reveal the name or any screenshots of the theme, but it will be a magazine-type theme. As for the design making its way outside of CTM for other WordPress or BlogSpot (which is very unlikely) users, it will be a great while as this will be my first personal blog theme.
I also found some inspiration from a new WordPress theme based on Danny Choo’s website layout created by fellow Otaku blogger, TheAkiba. Of course, my work will be entirely different from DC.com and Branford Magazine, CTM’s current theme.
There’s no completion date for the project, but it will definitely be a long time (read: not this season) until it’s complete. For now, I have A List Part and Max Design that will help me get through those pesky CSS bugs.
