Last year, I was contacted by the folks over at the Anime Blog Awards about the event, and I brought it to attention just as the nominating came to an close. The awards last year didn’t get a lot of mention as many blogs that participated were already well known. That may change for the 2009 Anime Blog Awards.

Fellow Aniblogger Panther talked about the 2009 Awards on his blog a while ago, and it helped shed some light for other aspiring “Anibloggers” with with lesser known blogs of their own on whether they would participate in the next ABAs.

The blogs nominated for 2008 were blogs already known to the “Aniblogoshpere”, such as THAT Anime Blog, and made the whole concept of the awards “redundant” by critics as the purpose of such blog awards were to nominate smaller, unknown blogs that needed more attention.

CEN.TAKU.ME wasn’t “Anime” enough to meet the nomination requirements in ‘08, but with the changes in store for the 2009 awards, and CTM’s timely ascension into more Anime centric articles over what was originally meant to be for an personal blog for Online Games, may be able to enter this year.

The nominating process begins soon. Over at the announcement post, suggestions like new categories and exactly what kind of blogs can participate are being considered to make the 2009 ABAs better. ^_^
