Girls Generation’s “Gee”

2009-05-14_002332_cr

It’s been a while since I posted a video under the Ni-Ongaku Spotlight tag (was originally a Category before the blog revamp). Actually, this is the first N-OS post for 2009! But the next video has nothing to do with J-Pop… sort of. It’s really a K-Pop MV of “Gee”, from the 9-member girl group, Girls Generation (or So Nyeo Shi Dae / 소녀시대 / SNSD).

The song is off their first mini-album that was released in January 2009 after their comeback from their first full album in 2007. When the teaser for “Gee” hit the interwebs, the results were insane!

Being a fan of K-Pop myself (thanks to Danny Choo), I can see why the video has nearly 1 million hits: listening to this song screams “J-Pop”--and in my opinion is why this song rocks! ^_^

This song is also a favorite of Kim, who recently joined the BBAMAJAM Club last week. (Maybe we should form a local SNSD club!)

Note: This is the “White Dance” version of the MV that shows the dance in clear detail (ala Hare Hare Yukai). Check out the original MV.
