Gundam Lives in Odaiba

Just in time for Gundam’s 30th Anniversary, a 59-foot replica of everyone’s favorite mecha, the RX-78 from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, was recently completed after half a year’s construction. Otaku blogger Danny Choo recently went to Odaiba to see for himself, along with other Japan/Otaku bloggers Lester Ho, Steven Nagata, and Ken Lee.

Unfortunately, the replica will be around for two months before it is called back into space… It would have been nice if it stayed up until the Olympic games (if Tokyo wins the bid), as it would give me an excuse to visit Japan! Now if they can pull off a replica of White Base

And if my addiction to Gundam wasn’t enough, I recently gave the members of Boogie BAM Anime Jam a “crash course” into the world of Gundam a month ago, and recently published it into not 1, not 2, but 3 parts here on CTM… Seeing the life-size Gundam makes me proud to be a Gundam fan.
