Karazhan, at last!

wowscrnshot_022508_031702.jpg

After leaving a guild, and joining a new one, created by a Mage friend, we cleared Karazhan in our first week of existence. I applied for another guild (AJ 02/2008 Iss. – Vol. 2), but after a Rogue friend was turned down by the very same guild, we decided to make a guild just for us: the under-geared. Sunday night, we ran through the first 5 bosses in Karazhan. I got 2 new upgrades: [Spectral Band of Innervation] (From Attumen the Huntsman) and [Bands of Nefarious Deeds] (From Maiden of Virtue). I realized that I never died the first night in Karazhan. I almost did during the Shade of Aran fight, with 600 HP remaining. I somehow managed to survive. Monday night concluded our first Karazhan run, as we cleared through the last bosses but a few since we weren’t properly prepared–gear and healer wise. I got two more upgrades! [Talisman of Nightbane] (Dropped from Nightbane), and [Helm of the Fallen Hero] (Dropped from Prince Malchezaar), which I turned in to Arodis Sunblade (or Asuur for Aldor) for a [Voidheart Crown].

Some of the bosses were a piece of cake, while some of I had to stay out of: take Netherspite for example. We wiped on this boss a few times. It was difficult to keep up with the beams. I took the first beam at the start of the fight, then a fellow Warlock took the beam in the next phase. By the time I got it right, I found myself standing under a wrap hole, where I accidentally jumped into a red beam of one our off-tanks and died. I had to sit there for 7 minutes as I watched the intense bout. By the time Netherspite got down to 17%, a few others and a healer died, but they manage to down the boss. My favorite fight was with the Shade of Aran. It was scary having not to move during the Flame Wreath phase, especially if my back was facing him. Fortunately, that didn’t happen. Another favorite was the Terestian Illhoof fight. Now THAT was intense! It was all Seed of Corruption all the way–including my usual DoT spells. I passed out when we got the boss down to 10%, but it was all good.

/gquit: Ninja style!

wowscrnshot_021808_050555_cr.jpg

Last month (AJ 02/2008 Iss. – Vol. 2), I explained my method of leaving a guild. I called it “Ninja /gquitting”. I will explain on how I did this. Basically, you /gquit right before you /logout or /exit. If you’re in the field, you need to wait 20 seconds before you fully logout. When there’s 5 seconds remaining, type “/gquit” (without the quotes), then you’re free of all the suffering you’ve been put through by your guild. At an Inn, you can logout right away. All you do is “/gquit” and hit the “Logout” button from the menu.

I know it’s a crude way of leaving a guild, but it’s the only way to do it to prevent those “powerful” guild members from shouting at you. This method should be done when you really need to leave. Take the guild I was in, for instance. It was argument, after argument, after argument. They could have been playing along, but it was too intense for it to be a joke argument. I would list other possibilities on why you would want to use this method, but they would only sound silly. I know this whole suggestion is not like me, but it could be a last-”ditch” effort for those who want to leave a problematic guild without feeling guilt.

  • I miss WOW. I pulled myself from it last year in order to concentrate on my blogs. However, sometime before this year ends, and I have everything in place, im picking up where i left off in WOW. I have 2 60s and have never done any high level stuff. Sad I know.

  • I have a two toons..a 70 Warlock and a 58 Paladin. I feel your pain, lol. I put off my Paladin so I can progress on my Warlock before the new patch–and expansion. I hear the WotLK may come out around Christmas, you should have plenty of rested EXP to get to 70 quick and do high level stuff before the new expansion. BTW, Outland is really fun, especially Nagrand and Blade’s Edge Mountains..you may never want to come back to Azeroth. :D
