Future Diary [Review]

Murmur

A CEN.TAKU.ME review of Future Diary (Mirai Nikki) is a little overdue. It was a series watched as part of our anime club’s weekly viewing sessions earlier in the year. We had to watch it at some point, because it’s also a series highly recommended as a manga read. And, if you’re wanting more of a series that’s like Death Note, but with more depth, this let’s take a look why you should check it out at all.

Anime Lineup for Spring 2013

Valvrave: The Liberator

Tons of anime TV series and movies on this year’s lineup for the Spring. I am curious if this year will be similar to 2011 with shows such as Tiger & Bunny and Blue Exorcist due to these shows that caught my interest.

The Winter 2012/2013 Anime Lineup

Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun

A month late to talk about the latest season of anime series, but it’s given me time to watch at least an episode or two of one anime from the lineup to decide if it’s worth the time this Winter.

Mobile Suit Gundam UC – Episode 5: “The Black Unicorn” [Preview]

vlcsnap-2012-12-14-17h39m51s230

Before moving on, please note that this relates to the recent episode of Gundam Unicorn, and not the upcoming sixth episode. While it’s only a few month old, it’s new for those wanting more of Unicorn, having to wait until Spring 2013.

The trailers for the fifth episode of Gundam Unicorn, The Black Unicorn, were released back in the summer. It’s been a bit since the time I should have post it, but think of this as a prelude to an upcoming review of the latest chapter in the story.

Poll: Anime at Large – The Return (Vote for the Next Series!)

Fairy Tail

Regular readers may remember an original blog series called “Anime at Large”. I talked about anime series that I had strong interest in, but somehow they “got away” from me due to taking interest in another series. Keeping up with my own blog series, I have managed to either finish watching or found said series to call my own. With most of the first generation of series captured, it’s time for another batch of suspects to call forth for viewing– with the help of readers this time around.

Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods (神と神/Kami to Kami)

BoG2032

It’s a story months, if not years, in the making. With the plenty of information pouring in to confirm its existence, Dragonball Z is returning! It began with a teaser featuring Son Goku, and nothing more. As of last week, a new trailer aired on a TV show highlighting events of the movie, as well as the introduction of two new villains.

Bleach: Life After the Winter War [Manga Recap]

The Return of the Captains (Bleach: Chapter 460)

In addition to regular discussions about Gundam and Dragonball, there is another series I’ve neglected for a couple of years, which is Bleach. I would be one of the first Anibloggers to write a review of the latest Bleach movie… and I still owe everyone a review on Hell Verse after slacking off towards the load of con reports. Later on, I just found no joy in watching the anime during the last filler arc involving Mod Souls. There’s also the refusal of reading the manga until it caught up with the official graphic novels. These are no longer the case as Bleach enters the final arc. Warning: standard spoiler warnings apply.

Bleach: Hell Verse (US Trailer) [Preview]

Bleach Movie 4: Hell Verse

It’s my duty to bring you a review of the latest Bleach movie as soon as it’s released. But I haven’t been able to do that after the release of the fourth and seemingly last movie, Hell Verse (aka Jigoku-Hen), last year. It’s hard to believe that this movie was released in Japan a year ago on home video. Maybe a second chance for a review will come as Hell Verse will be airing on Neon Alley, along with a Stateside release on DVD and Blu-ray.

AMV: Kurokami Meets Daft Punk

Fist to Fist

I’ve been wanting to share this AMV (that’s not mine) for almost two years, but I forgot the name of the anime it was based on: Kurokami (Black God). I do remember the song used: “Face to Face” by Daft Punk, from their 2001 “Discovery” album (the same album that inspired Interstella 5555 from Leiji Matsumoto).

Fall 2012 Anime Lineup

Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning

Here is the Fall Anime Lineup for 2012! It’s a little past the usual posting time, but it’s never too late to catch the newest series of the season!
