It Finally Happened…A Gaia Online MMO

I don't believe it...Gaia is finally a MMO!

This isn’t a dream. You’re looking at a screenshot of a real Gaia Online MMORPG. I thought Gaia Online alone was enough, but a 2D-ish MMORPG is the real deal. Back in April at New York Comic-Con, the administrators of Gaia Online offered a opportunity for Gaians a chance to explore the world of Gaia in a form of a online game, a’la Ragnarok Online. Now I have the chance to say this–without getting flamed by a 12 year old Gaian (true story)—Welcome to Barton!

The MMO isn’t out yet, but it’s scheduled to be released sometime by the end of the year. What should I choose: Gaia Online or World of Warcraft. Probably the ladder, but if I wanted to, I choose Ragnarok Online instead.

The return of Jet Set Radio for the Wii? I hope so!

The return of Jet Set Radio for the Wii? I hope so!

I started submitting gaming related content to indie gaming journal website, VGPro. I started contributing to VGPro back in may, with my first original article on the pre-release of Metal Gear Solid 4. You could say that was a one hit wonder for me, but I haven’t forgot about the site. If things go well, I might start posting gaming related on content, but my anime readers can still check them out if they want.

Articles

Jet Set Radio to Make a Comeback? - This is my first post on VGPro in 3 months on the possible return of the hit Sega Dreamcast game, Jet Set Radio for the Nintendo Wii. I hope this game does make a comeback!

Metal Gear Solid 4–with Girls?

Thursday, August 7th, 2008 | Games with No Comments »
I KNEW IT! Raiden IS a girl!

I KNEW IT! Raiden IS a girl!

A figurine set featuring Metal Gear Solid 4 characters…as girls? Yup. The set shows our beloved MGS4 characters: Solid (Old) Snake, Liquid Snake, Raiden (insert joke here), and Otacon in Lolita–or Lolicon–form. I’m not much into action figures (mostly the Gashapon stuff), but I’m would like to have these! Yeah…the Lolita fad is for guys (not to mention that it borders on something illegal), but as a girl, they look kind of かわいい! Honestly though, I’d rather buy the Mcfarlane figures.

Final Fantasy XIII Heading to Xbox 360

Monday, July 21st, 2008 | Games with 2 Comments
2008-07-20_00002-433x243 Final Fantasy XIII Heading to Xbox 360

The announcement was made at this year’s E3 Gaming Expo from the folks at Square-Enix. The long running franchise, originally exclusive to Nintendo systems in the late 80s (and today with Tactics Advance and the Crystal Chronicles series), then on the Sony Playstation in 1997, will now make an appearance on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 game console. Many Xbox 360 owners are pleased with Square’s decision with the release of the 13th installment of Final Fantasy, some are not, with myself included since I’m not much of an Xbox get a life, fanboys girl.

There’s a catch, however: it’s only being released in North American and Europe. This means Japanese Xbox 360 owners will have to buy the PS3 version. This is understandable seeing the Xbox wasn’t welcomed in the land of the rising sun in the first place. Congratulations to Xbox fans, but as a long time Sony fan, I’m sticking with the Playstation.

New (and Final) Metal Gear Solid 4 Trailer, Featuring the Movie Voice Guy

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 | Games with No Comments »

At the 2008 Konami Gamer’s Day festival last week, a 40 minute conference for Metal Gear Solid 4 was held, along with series creator, Hideo Kojima. At the meeting, the final trailer was revealed: dubbed in English, and with a very familiar voice for those who frequent movie theaters. Many people may not like this trailer once they see the first 10 seconds of the trailer (You will hear what I mean), but it totally pays off in the end. This trailer could possibly be a prelude to a live-action Metal Gear Solid movie that everyone has been talking about….

As a little bonus, here is a commercial for Japanese energy drink, “REGAIN”, featuring Old (Solid) Snake. The commercial is a little odd (especially for it being a commercial, and non a regular commercial for the game) for those who are excited about the game, but refuse to search any further to prevent getting spoiled (such as myself).

Click the jump to view the commercial…
