Azeroth Journal [November 2007 Issue]
I have returned from Azeroth to bring you news on my progression with my Warlock and Paladin classes. Things are looking up; however, my Warlock may end up being an alternative toon for getting revenge on Alliance players in Hillsbrad and/or Stranglethorn Vale…
Since our guild suffered a shake up due to differences in attitudes, we are forced to take alternative measures for enjoyment; hopefully, my paladin will get a shot in Karazhan.
Right now, I am leveling up my Blood Elf paladin, currently level 36. My goal is to get half a level a day–or more if my higher level friends help out in instances. With a couple of AddOns and a a leveling guide to boot, it’s smooth sailing. The areas of the game I dread the most are Hillsbrad Foothills and Stranglethorn Vale. If I was playing on a normal realm, this wouldn’t be a problem (yes, I play on a PvP realm). Fortunately, I have been lucky to avoid trouble with Alliance players, except for a few times by hunters.
The good news is that I am done with Hillsbrad at my level. Next up: Desolace. It’s one of my favorite places in Azeroth, next to Feralas and Un’Goro Crater. The addons I’m using is a lifesaver, as they provide aids for casting time and map positions. Also, one addon is bringing back memories of previous MMORPGs I have played before switching to the World of Warcraft. Soundtrack creates an soundtrack using your own MP3 files when in certain situations, such as the Republic of Bastok theme playing while in Ogrimmar (Ironforge suits this song perfectly), the Final Fantasy X ‘Normal Battle’ theme while fighting a mob, or the Chocobo music from Final Fantasy XI while riding on a mount. It’s up to your imagination which song you choose!
The addons I use while questing are MapNotes for pinning notes for mobs or NPC on the map, and Quartz for spell durations and cooldowns. It’s better than Blizzard’s UI. One more is Perl Classic Unit Frames; it gives the default frames a make over! It’s cool seeing 3D portrait frames over the normal, static one.It looks like time is running out for me on my current realm. After being kicked from a guild that would have been perfect for the Alliance kids, and players too drunk to do instances, there’s no choice but to transfer to another realm. When Arena Season 3 starts, we’re moving to another realm—which is classified information for the time being. We want everything to be “perfect”.That’s all happening this month. I can’t wait until next month after patch 2.3 hits, and I should be getting [back] to Outland by the end of the month. /farewell!
