FUNimation Licenses “Baccano!”

Baccano!: Cowboy Bebop + Fullmetal Alchemist + Godfather = Another Hit?

Baccano!: Cowboy Bebop + Fullmetal Alchemist + Godfather = Another Hit?

Yesterday, FUNimation acquired the rights to Baccano!, an anime based on a light novel that takes place in the early 1930s. FUNimation has the first episode (subtitled) available for streaming on the Baccano! website–with a password based on the train in the first episode.

The first episode is pretty good, and it has some potential to be a huge success, especially if it airs on Adult Swim (if AS will keep anime on the air by the time this gets dubbed). It has too many characters, but it will even out to the viewer with later episodes. ;)

  • That’s the thing, waiting for an anime show to get dubbed. I wish I could enjoy english subs, but I just can’t get into it. This is unfortunate, especially since I want to see shows like Vampire Knight, and Quran High right now. But I guess I’ll just have to wait.

  • @ Ria: Watching subtitled anime is easy! If you find yourself reading a lot, you would have no problems. Some people say they can’t stand subs. It’s the opposite for me, however; I’ve watch so much of the subbed version of Bleach, I can’t watch anything without subtitles. Dubbed anime is good too. It all depends on the actors. I like to see the English dub of Ouran since I hear Vic will be doing a character. XD
