Mirror’s Edge (Game) [Impressions]

Mirror's Edge: A potential to be the next biggest game series

Mirror's Edge: A potential to be the next biggest game series

Electronic Arts‘ and DICE’s latest game for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, Mirror’s Edge, is on the ballot (sorry) to be the Game of the Year, and just in time for Christmas! Maybe not the Game of the Year, but possibly the best game ever released that’s not a Metal Gear of Halo title.

I played the PlayStation 3 demo of Mirror’s Edge, and I must say I’m very impressed with the gameplay. You get to do things that was impossible on the PS2 of Xbox (technology-wise), like the main purpose of the game: jumping from building to building! You’ll also encounter enemies along the way, but you can just punch them out of the way like in a Hollywood movie. There’s also guns you can get from the bad guys, but you don’t get a lot of bullets (and for a game that’s mostly in FPV).

Some gamers might get a turn off after starting the game’s tutorial mode. I say this because while it appears to be a First Person Shooter, there’s not much you can do with firearms. But you won’t be disappointed. Playing the demo before it’s release (on November 14th) is a good start. I promise that you will WANT this game!

  • The game is sure to be one of the best titles of the year. It has a great soundtrack too! I hear that people get some motion sickness playing the demo though. Guess it’s just that realistic. There’s a contest at Game Podunk that gives away 5 copies of Mirror’s Edge to their users, so check it out folks, if interested. :)
