I checked out JAMPcon’s website this evening to find that the 2009 convention has been postponed until May 21st-23rd, 2010. A little disappointing as I was totally looking forward to it. The reason is due to the looming economic problems…

Yeah, I’m afraid we’re serious. In light of the economic collapse that has happened, we’ve decided it is best to postpone the convention. These months are a time for people to get themselves together and we feel like this will also give us a chance to bring an even better convention next year.

But don’t fret, this is definitely not the end for JAMPcon! We’ve already got next year in the works so let me be clear that we are definitely having a 2nd year. No one expected things to take such a down-turn as they have for the USA. As a second year con, I have to think about the stability and survival of the convention so waiting a year will help this. I hope everyone looks back at this decision and realizes we made the right call.

It does make sense, but with MTAC next week out of the question for me, that leaves only one convention to go to, and that is Anime Weekend Atlanta in September. Oh, well. This will give me more time to save up for the next one! ^^;
