Manga Making Way to Kindle, For Yaoi Fans

For a few years, Japan has embraced the option of offering digital copies of popular manga series via Playstation Portable, iPhones, or other methods of digital distribution. The US is slowly beginning to accept the choice of reading manga on portable devices.
With plenty of manga to go around on the Japanese Playstation Network service, there is only one known service in the US that has recently launched several manga titles on the service, and that’s Amazon.com’s Kindle store. However, don’t expect to find the latest volume of Bleach on there just yet… because the current selection of titles are aimed towards Yaoi fans.

After reading the news of Digital Manga Publishing releasing new titles on the Kindle store, I decided to check out the current library of other Yaoi titles with the Kindle app on my iPod Touch. One title looked at, called “Sugar Milk” was pretty good, even for a sample. Typically, sampled books on Kindle last a chapter, but this was almost the whole
book manga!
At first, I thought sampling would be denied taking a peek due to the nature of these titles. I found a few more series on the store, “Caged Slave” and “Better Than a Dream
“, with obvious covers for a definite 18+ rating, were novelized… until later when I found out they were actually novels, thanks to Amazon’s failure to note that the item was a novel instead of Graphic Novel.
But it appears that explicit series do get the sample treatment… though I won’t say which one; it’s not a good idea for minors that have access to a Kindle device to get their hands on free yaoi… *cough*
As for the manga first mentioned, “Sugar Milk”, is a series of short stories with Shounen-ai (or BL, of course) themes… nothing found in it so far with that involves missing pieces of clothes.
If you have a Kindle device, and take a liking Yaoi, I actually recommend checking it out. I was shocked at the length of the sample pages… It’s worth buying: either via Kindle or in your local bookstore. ^_^
Update: Yaoi Press (via Twitter) also has a library of Yaoi titles for the Kindle. Thanks!

It is a different experience when I tried reading manga collection on Kindle. I have a large collection stored in my external drive. I will try to read the entire volume of Sugar milk.
