The latest installment in the Live Action Death Note movie franchise was released on February 9th, entitled “L, Change the WorLd”. It is the long awaited spin-off featuring the world famous detective, L. Kenichi Matsuyama, who played L in the first two Death Note movies, reprises his role as the mysterious detective. The movie takes place in Los Angeles during L/Ryuuzaki’s “crucial days”. I’m not sure if that’s before or after the start of the Kira case. I’m not going to explain as I may spoil it for some people. I have yet to witness the last few chapters of the manga or last few episodes of the anime, but this movie should be safe for those who have read through half of the series, leading up to the second part of the story a few years after the start of the Kira case.
