Quick Links: GTA IV Edition

Grand Theft Auto IV is finally out, and usually when a game gets released that’s in the GTA series, there’s bound to be tons of press–especially bad ones, including from a certain Florida lawyer. I know it’s been at least two days since it hit shelves, but in case you’ve been away from the online world, here are some stories I found that’s interesting and some that made me mad…

  • All Day Gamer posted about a customer waiting in line for the release of GTA IV. Fortunately, no one else was hurt in the incident, and the victim is being treated. The suspect is still on the run, but the media is still after GTA IV as a whole.
  • A GameStop was robbed by an eager GTA fan who maced employees and ran off with a couple of copies of GTA IV. He was later caught and charged with felony. Sounds like a case of Grand Theft GTA IV…
  • The game has been out for a day, and there are already reports of bugged versions of GTA IV. The game lock ups, and the only way to bypass the freeze is to unplug the system.
  • The front page GamePolitics has nothing but stories about GTA IV, and this one I found (which wasn’t a big surprise) has everyone’s favorite Florida Attorney, Jack Thompson, foaming at the mouth about the game’s content, and wants everyone locked up. How can this guy have a job?
