It’s been a while since I last posted these. Writing Recent Updates entries is a way I connect with my readers to let them what what’s happening inside the blog in one post when there is more than one change to the blog. This is actually the first RU post of the New Year, and posting this in the second month of 2009 right before Spring might be a good thing. ^_^

New Layout Update

Last month, I wrote that the blog’s next theme would be my very own. This means I’ll be able to control the layout for as long as possible without drastically changing the theme and I’ll be able to credit and fix any problems myself in case of a future WordPress software upgrade.

At the time of writing, the theme is approximately 50% completed, and I just finished coding WordPress’ new comment threading feature into the theme, which is a huge accomplishment after having to edit the functions file to get the comments to appear the way it should be. I hope to have the theme completed by the end of March, just in time for spring, but I’m going to keep a steady pace to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Blue Dragon Plus Widget

The widget shown on the right is a widget promoting the upcoming Blue Dragon Plus game for the Nintendo DS, which was recently featured on CTM with special thanks to RocketXL. You can download trailers, wallpaper, as well as the theme song to Blue Dragon Plus. I plan on writing a review of BDP very soon, so be sure to check back!

Google Friend Connect

Another widget recently added to CTM is Google’s Friend Connect service. It’s a lot like the widgets of MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog, but you get to organize your very own community–via Google, of course. At the time of writing, there are 15 members. Why not add your self to the community? ^_^

Category Overhaul

I am planning to add and remove some categories and tags to make posts easier to find and to better incorporate for the new blog theme. A few categories such as Reviews will become a tag and visa versa for others.

Last, but not least, I would like to apologize for the lack of updates and (probably) poor writing quality over the past week as I am working hard to launch the new theme. ^^;
