Bleach: Memories of Nobody [Review]
Summary:
The Bleach: Memories of Nobody DVD went on sale in Japan on September 5th, 2007, nearly a year since its theatrical release. Meaning that it would not be long before we could see an “fan version” around the web. Just in time as I catch up to all 140 episodes of the anime, I got my hands a copy and sat through close to two hours to see what the “Strawberry Gang” was up to.

Review:

The movie starts off with Ichigo and Rukia on the scene of a hollow attack, as always. Later they see a bunch of ghosts with red heads, then a girl with Shinigami/Soul Reaper attire shows up and gets rid of them. Kon, in Ichigo’s body, sees a guy who looks really important – to the story, that is… Ichigo finds the same girl, Senna, later and keeps an eye on her, only to lose her when Rangiku and Toshiro shows up.

They meet up back at Kisuke’s place and explained the current situation. Later on, that evening, Ichigo finds Senna and treats her to dinner (Awww, how cute!). After dinner, Ichi-nii buys a ribbon that Senna “borrowed” from a store in the mall. On her way out of the restroom, the girl wanders away, only to be found at a burial site. The girl is then encountered by several guys with strange clothes on. Ichigo steps in and saves her. The mysterious men got away.

The next day, Ichigo and Senna find a crying boy, with a broken chain on his chest, who can’t find his father. They walk to a shrine to find the boys’ father. They are reunited and sent off to Soul Society in piece. Then, suddenly, Ukitake, Renji, Toshiro, Rangiku and Rukia shows up to take away Senna because the she shouldn’t be remembering her past when she’s a “Shinigami”. She is also connected to the hole in the sky in Soul Society. The mysterious men from before shows up, starting a fight with the Shinigami, in a race to get Senna. Ichigo steps in and uses Bankai, only to be knocked down by the guy that Kon saw from before…

My analysis of Bleach – Memories of Nobody:
The last 25 minutes of the movie contains alot of fight scenes, which contained the very same excitement as in the TV anime, and many appearances by the Shinigami, including Byakuya, Soi Fong, Ikkaku, and Kenpachi. The other character that did not appear in the movie was Yoruichi. I think that the characters should have gotten more screen time, especially Byakuya, who had only three lines… :’(
I’m not going to spoil the near end of the movie. All I can say it was really worth seeing, and it was worth the wait. If you’re really into Bleach and don’t mind non-cannon plotlines, I suggest checking it out.
