RPGing

So much for leveling my Death Knight. Since Christmas Day, I’ve found myself participating in what I did best before I sent for a free Ragnarok Online installation disc back in 2004-ish: Console gaming.

I didn’t get much for Christmas, oh, except for one game: Kingdom Hearts II. It’s the second installment of the inexplicable collaboration game from Square-Enix and Disney. I’ve forgotten all about this game… thanks to Ragnarok Online, Final Fantasy XI, World of Warcraft, and all the other MMOG I’ve played over the past few years.

I can’t play KHII just yet. I have to finish the first one or else I wouldn’t know what’s going on. :P Although I’m getting the chance to play a game that’s not a Tactical Espionage Action game with 9 hours worth of cutscenes. :rasp:

Maybe after I’m done with KH/II, maybe I’ll play a Final Fantasy game I have yet to play (sad, huh?). I do need to check into WoW soon, though–or my Auction House returns will go kaput.

  • I spy a Chrono Trigger cd. Play that first. That is my favorite of any console RPG hands down.
Then Final Fantasy 7, 8 and X in that order =P. Then Kingdom Hearts if your not Rpg’d out by then. I probly lost alot of WoW auction mail when I left the game last year around March or so. I’m probly not going back to it for a long while even though I’m curious to see how the Deathknight plays.

  • @ Mitch: I am playing the first Kingdom Hearts right now, but I will try Chrono Trigger after I’m finished with KH. I finished Final Fantasy X a looong time ago..like in 2003 XD, but It’s so awesome, I’ll play through it again. :P

Death Knight is very addicting. I’m trying out the Unholy spec, which was nerfed in the recent patch. When I play again, I’m going to switch back to Blood (my original build), which pwns all the other DK specs. XD

My favorite thing about Unholy, though, is that you get to keep your minion for a long time compared to Blood or the other specs, where they only last for 2 minutes.

  • Wait, Death Knight pets are on a timer unlike warlock or hunter pets? That kinda of blows…. I always liked the fact that pets didn’t disappear, and that you didn’t have to keep re-summoning them.

  • Death Knight pets with Blood or Frost specs are on a timer, but for Unholy specs, they get to keep it as long as they want or until they die (or after a 5 minute cooldown after each casting, of course) with this skill in the Unholy tree: Master of Ghouls. Actually, Unholy Death Knights can have two pets, but the second one acts like a normal ghoul-ish for other specs. It’s not a ghoul, but rather a Gargoyle. When you summon the Gargoyle, it uses aerial Nature attacks, but you have to keep your Runic Power up as much as possible, or it will go away; I personally like to use this skill when I’m surrounded by 3+ mobs and near death.

But yeah, I wish you could keep them out for a while longer, too. But with the Blood spec, you won’t need a pet for a long time. ;)
