Survey for American Otaku

A student survey is currently underway for the study of American Otaku by a student of Furman University. The survey investigates Otaku culture in the US and Japan and differences between the culture in both countries, including the controversial use of the word “otaku”.

Recommended for Otaku in the States. The survey ends in December. An opportunity for an interview is included in the survey. There are two versions of the survey: Anime fans with general or little understanding of the culture and for seasoned vets.

How much do you know about Otaku culture?

  • A lot: It's serious business. (47%, 7 Votes)
  • A fair amount: I know the differences of word "otaku". (40%, 6 Votes)
  • I'm new to the game: but my other friends are (Americanized) otaku. (13%, 2 Votes)
