The next song in the Ni-Ongaku Spotlight series are the Heartsdales featuring Soul’d Out with “Candy Pop”. Soul’d Out consists of MC Diggy Mo, the Human Beatbox, Bro Hi, and DJ Shinnosuke. They provided beats for the Japanese version of The Boondocks, and did the ending theme for the anime Yakitate JAPAN! with the song “To All Tha Dreamers”. I don’t know much about the Heartsdales, but after hearing “Candy Pop”, they are on my list of J-Pop artists to check out. This song was also used in a popular Anime Music Video of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, called “Skittles”. Apparently, the AMV gave this song a lot of attention for Haruhi fans, though this was released in 2003.

For those who are big fans of the anime, “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”, and (Activision) Blizzard’s smash hit RTS “Starcraft”, ought to watch this, no matter how bad it may seem. It is a smash up of clips of “StarLeague”, a popular TV show featuring Korea’s top Starcraft players, from the 24-hour gaming network, OnGameNet, and the ending theme of Haruhi Suzumiya, “Hare Hare Yukai”. The results = hilarious!

Holy cow! It’s been about a week since I’ve made an entry that wasn’t about WoW. I have made a list of top 5 anime that is “Otaku friendly”. As in anime that is worthy of being defended by losers with nothing better to do than flame others on internet message boards for disliking it. Without further ado, here is the Top 5 Series for Hardcore (or shall I say, “Haddo-kore”) Otaku. A word of warning: If you find this post offensive, then stop reading it and go find something to do other than beating up other fans.
