The CEN.TAKU.ME Journal #2

2010-04-30_00002

It’s time for another CEN.TAKU.ME Journal entry! In this post, I will (finally, after many years of trying) attend another long running Anime convention. I try my hand at making my own cosplay costume, and after a year of sitting under a rock (next to a Gundam), I explore the world.

Today I will be attending the 10th Annual Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (or MTAC for short) in Nashville, TN. This will be my first time attending MTAC, and going there will finally fulfill my wishes of attending the second biggest convention next to Anime Weekend Atlanta.

Of course, I will bring my camera with me for plenty of photos to share the memories of the 10 year anniversary of MTAC. Also many of fellow BBAMAJAM.org writers will be there to check it out too! Both CEN.TAKU.ME and BBAMAJAM.org will be covering the convention, so stay tuned. You can also follow me on Twitter for “live” coverage.

  3. Cosplay

Lately I’ve been working on a cosplay project that I have been wanting to do for a very long time. I may have said who the character is on Twitter (or reading this blog or knowing me in person, there’s a good idea of who the character is), but I will unveil that character in another edition of the Cosplay Journal (and at MTAC).

Earlier this month, I took part in a two-day Bloom in the Park picnic at Renaissance Park in Downtown Chattanooga. There were a lot of great cosplay to see, and April during many Sakura bloom festivals in other parts of the US was a perfect time of the year to show them off. For those who missed it, check it out on Zippy’s Flickr.

  5. Axis Powers Hetalia

After a year of holding on to dear life to preserve the remaining episodes of ZZ Gundam, I finally put an end to the wait by witnessing the final battle between the Titans and Neo Zeon. That means I can change the on-going subject of Gundam to Axis Powers Hetalia! After many, many, many recommendations, I have converted over to Hetaliaism.

To sum it up: Axis Powers Hetalia is a currently running comedic Anime series, where each episode is 5-minutes long, about World History. As the title “Hetalia” explains it, the series focuses partly on the country of Italy… well, the character who represents Italy. The cast of APH are named after countries… and their real life stereotypes.
