Young Solid Snake: Before and After

Never got the chance to play the very first two Metal Gear games for the NES MSX to see what Solid Snake looked like in 1987, sans the 8-bit sprites? Here’s a Before-and-After picture I made using the illustration of Solid Snake from the instruction manual of the NES version, and a screenshot of Snake (as Iroquois Pliskin) from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the Playstation 2.

The Snake on the left is what he assumed to look like if Metal Gear didn’t continue to this day. After a 10 year hiatus–and an unfortunate appearance thanks to the outdated (“pixelated”) graphics of the PSOne, this is what Snake looks like in MGS2.

With the Plystation 3, some probably call out that the PS2 graphics is officially “outdated”. Snake does look a lot better on the Playstation 3, despite some drastic changes.
